Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

Empowering women entrepreneurs starts with one truth: businesses grow at the speed of relationships. The most reliable way to build lasting professional relationships is to be intentional about three things in every interaction: your attitude toward others, the image you project through both appearance and behavior, and how well you manage yourself in social and business settings. Those three elements, Attitude, Image, and Self-Management, are the heart of my AIM Methodology, and when professional women apply them consistently, they communicate more effectively, build stronger connections, and leave lasting impressions that turn into opportunity.

What happened at the E-Women Network North Dallas event?

In September 2024, I had the privilege of speaking at the E-Women Network North Dallas Chapter meeting. The monthly luncheon focused on empowering professional women and creating a positive community, and the room was full of entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals ready to grow.

My talk centered on the AIM Methodology and how it builds lasting relationships in both personal and professional spaces. We went deep into the principles behind each letter, with actionable strategies attendees could use immediately: how to develop meaningful connections that go beyond surface-level interactions, how to enhance your attitude toward others, how to refine your professional image, and how to better manage yourself in social and business settings.

The energy in the room was palpable. Members connected with one another and shared how they planned to implement AIM in their personal and professional growth. Many left the meeting feeling inspired and uplifted, ready to apply these strategies to foster stronger relationships, expand their networks, and elevate their executive presence.

What is the AIM Methodology?

AIM stands for Attitude, Image, and Self-Management, and it is a roadmap for building relationships that last.

  • Attitude is how you approach other people. When your attitude is oriented toward serving and genuinely connecting, rather than transacting, people feel it, and they respond to it.
  • Image is how you show up, in both appearance and behavior. It is the message you send before and while you speak.
  • Self-Management is how you handle yourself in social and business settings: your presence, your discipline, and your intentionality in every interaction.

As I shared with the group, “I truly believe that mastering how we present ourselves and how we manage relationships is key to success. It’s all about making meaningful connections with people, showing up as your best self, and being intentional about how you manage yourself in every interaction.”

Why is image more than what you wear?

A key highlight of the discussion was the Image portion of AIM. Image is often reduced to wardrobe, but that misses most of the picture. How we show up in both appearance and behavior, and how well we meet the expectations of our clients, significantly elevates our image.

“Your image is not just about what you wear; it’s how you present yourself in every interaction,” I told the group, encouraging everyone to be mindful of the messages they send through their actions and their communication. For a woman building a business, every meeting, every email, and every follow-up is part of her image. Clients are constantly gathering impressions, and the entrepreneur who shows up consistently, prepared, and attentive builds a reputation that marketing cannot buy.

What is the Platinum Rule, and why does it work?

Most of us grew up on the Golden Rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. In business relationships, I teach the Platinum Rule: treat others the way they want to be treated.

The difference matters. When you communicate with people based on what they value, rather than what you value, you connect faster and more genuinely. By applying the Platinum Rule, professionals can communicate more effectively, build stronger connections, and leave lasting impressions. It shifts the focus from “How do I want to come across?” to “What does this person need from this interaction?”, and that shift is where real relationship-building begins.

Why do communities like E-Women Network matter?

The E-Women Network North Dallas Chapter is known for empowering women entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals, and this event was another step toward helping members grow their businesses and relationships in a supportive community. Growth rarely happens in isolation. When women gather monthly to encourage one another, share strategies, and make genuine connections, everyone’s network, and everyone’s business, gets stronger.
